Martin Melson was born in 1971.  He was born & raised on Lower Eastern Shore.  He knew he wanted to serve in the health field by the age 18.  He started his journey as a Nursing Assistant in 1989.  As his passion continues to grow to help others, he furthered his education.  Martin became a LPN in 1996 and began working at PRMC.  He has worked at PRMC from 1989 – 2007.

Again, he went back to school and graduated as a RN in 1999.  He continued to work at the local hospital, PRMC.  Martin has worked in many departments at the hospital.  He worked with Orthopedic, Neurology & Urology Unit. He also worked in the Transitional Care Unit.

As an RN he also worked in the ICU for four years at PRMC. He was a Professional Development Resource Nurse 2004-2005 at PRMC.

Martin worked as a Clinical Manager at PRMC from 2005-2007 in ICU Step down Unit.

He became the Assistant Director of Nursing at our local state hospital, Deer’s Head Hospital from 2007-2008.

In 2003 he decided to work in long term care at the Wicomico Nursing Home through 2012.  During which time he worked as an RN, Director of Nursing, Administrator in Training-AIT and Assistant Administrator.

Martin grew a passion for teaching.   He then became a Clinical Instructor at Salisbury University from 2008 -2017.  He taught Nursing students for the past nine years.

In 2010, Martin worked at the Mid-Atlantic Healthcare Nursing Home in Delmar, DE as the Administrator until 2012.

He worked as a Clinical Manager from 2012 – 2015 at the Fresenius Medical Care.

Once Martin became a Nurse Practitioner in 2016, he continued to work at PRMC.  He worked in the Hematology/Oncology department from 2017 – 2022

Martin has also helped with local businesses to provide health care. He has worked at the Perdue Wellness Center, Part-Time from 2018 – 2022.

He has decided to return to primary care.  His journey began with Delmarva Internal & Family Medicine from 6/6/2022 – 7/8/2022.  The practice was sold to Menocal Family Practice.  On 7/11/2022 Martin continues to work in primary care with Menocal Family Practice to current.
